06. After the Patrol Fight

Silk delicately slices the roasted meat with his claws and eats it. Once the steak is gone, he stands up and stretches. "I think we should rest. I'll take first watch." He disappears into the shadows.

Gyrax yawns despite herself as the word 'rest' is finally mentioned. As she finishes roasting her meat (which is still very rare), she offers some to Koraph and breaks into impromptu campfire singing.

"Behold the mighty Cyrus!
Most fell of sexy beasts!
Few others could inspire us
Such awe (short of harpies)

"He wields the sword of Chaos
He walks the paths of Death
His hair screams 'Amadeus'
His gaze screams 'crystal meth'

"Will our osseus Odysseus
Reclaim his purloined dong?
Or Fate prove unauspicious
And kiss his wang so-long?"

From deep in the darkness surrounding the camp you hear Silk giggle and snort.

Cyrus face palmed at the end of Gyrax's song, though mostly out of embarrassment. "That was, erm... enchanting, Gyrax."

ooc If skeletons could blush...

Gyrax beams at Cyrus. "Do you think so? It just came out of nowhere, but I do hope I did you justice. It's never too early to start carving out your legend, you know." she reasons, taking another bite of minotaur and licking her lips clean.

"I'm not really looking to be a legend... well, okay, maybe a bit." he shrugged. "I admit, before becoming a walking pile of bones, I did try to seek greater power. Not to conquer the world or anything, just to see if I could do it."

Gyrax oohs. "Your unquenchable thirst for power is purely academic? Well, that's not too bad. How's that working for you?" She looks at Cyrus with a smile... then blinks and looks again. "Oh, right. Sorry."

"Get some sleep!"

Gyrax hrmps. "Okay, okay." Licking her sword clean, she tucks it away and finds a nice spot among the lower branches of a nearby tree to roost. After trying uselessly to get comfortable, she throws safety to the wind and removes her armor. To her credit, she at least wears a long black wool shirt underneath. Fluffing up her wings, she curls up to sleep. "Goodnight, everyone. 'Till Pelor's eye greets us."

Cyrus grumbles and rolls out a sleeping bag, crawling into it. "Yeah yeah, g'night folks..." While he hated being ordered around, sleep sounded pretty good right now, so listening to Silk this time worked out just fine for him.
