Gyrax looks rather pleased at this point, as it looks like Pelor is smiling on the group. Surely this means that what they are doing must be good and fair? Swinging her sword dramatically, she prepares for one more blow! "Heheheh!" she snickers. That sounded dirty.

Everyone gets 500 xp, which should take you to level 2!

Upon inspecting the corpses, you find that one of them must have been secretly devote, or had found the odd trinket around the neck on another hapless victim. Gyrax, you gain a +1 Symbol of Divinity! (page 88 of Adventurer's Vault)

In the knapsack of one of the goblins, you also find an orb emanating power. Koraph, you gain a +1 Orb of Debilitating Languor (pg 93 of AV)

One of the other goblins was using an odd walking stick, but didn't know what he carried. Cyrus, you've found a +1 Defensive Staff! (pg 104 AV)

Silk, you find a small instruction manual on one of the soldier's who apparently had a thing for meditations. You gain a +1 Magic Ki focus! (page 205 PHB3)

Caex finds a small necklace around one the other soldier, and gets a +1 Amulet of Resolution (page 149)



Feel free to role play some

Gyrax oohs at her shiny new holy symbol, which she fits around her waist like a girdle. Now she can do a provocative crotch thrust every time she wants to use Dire Radiance! "I was kinda hoping we would find a map of the fortress or something. But I guess it makes sense. These guys already live there. Why would they carry a map of the place?"

Still she rummages through the Minotaur's gear one more time. "You know, it's a shame. Sure, he was a jerk, but it's hard not to feel bad. He did ask me out and all, and he was kind of a hunk. But I stand by my decision! When forced to choose between a hunk and my Faith, I choose the latter."

Still, she seems to consider this. At one point, she peeks under the Minotaur's loincloth, grumbles something inaudible, then shakes her fist at Pelor's disc. "I better go to Heaven for this!"

As he rummages through the soldiers belongings, Silk stumbles upon a scroll describing an ancient monastic tradition. It appears this goblin had aspirations to join a monastery in the future. Eying it dubiously, his breath is taken away by a concept described within. How to magically enhance a bare-handed attack simply by focusing on something called ki! He wasn't sure what ki was but the meditation seemed simple enough, and that was just the beginning of what lay within the scroll. The pros outweighed the cons and he decided to attempt the technique when they settled down to rest. He had never considered becoming a monk before, but perhaps learning enough to blend their fighting styles with his own would prove more then just beneficial.

"Is everyone ready to move along? I don't wish to stay here too long in case there is another patrol in the area. This one was more then enough for my tastes. I fear I under-estimated them." He glances over at Gyrax as she peeks at the minotaur. Chuckling, he shakes his head and rolls his eyes. Although he allows himself to dwell on the image of the large beasts behind, which he had gotten a very good look at earlier.

OOC: I'll do a more in depth roleplay of his meditation when we actually stop and rest.

Cyrus takes the staff he had found, eyeing it and nodding. "Hm, this could come in quite handy." He turns as he hears Silk's question. "I am ready to take off, Silk." He then notices Gyrax taking a peek, smacking his forehead. "Why, Gyrax, I didn't think you were so curious..."

OOC: Do we return to max HP when we level up, or no?

Gyrax nods at her companions. "Yes, but which way do we go?" she wonders, looking at the fork on the road ahead. "Also, I'm kinda beat. I was hoping for a chance to rest, and now we gotta run?"

OOC: Yes, you may all return to max HP

"Greeshtan said that Caex knows the way, so ask her. We need to move quickly. I don't want to get caught red-handed, as it were. Yehehehe!"

Gyrax nods at Silk, her helmet banging noisily as she does so. She picks up a dead goblin (for the road), and hoists it over her shoulder. She singsongs a little victory song as she walks along

Let's throw a victory party.

Koraph found the new orb within the things, and his jaw dropped and a word that was light on the wind floated out from him. "Power"
He had quickly gotten out his ritual like stuff, and had quickly drawn out an elaborate diagram on the ground with some arcane runes. He looked down at it with such concentration you might think his head might explode.(it looked something similar to the Jewish star, but was elongated with a spherical element put into the north and south part of the triangles.) He put the new orb in the top one, and the one he has been traveling with for a long time in the bottom one. He stood up in the center of the symbol. The orb he had previously held, started seeping a blueish/purplish sludge that went towards the orb at the north end in a little stream when the orb just sat in a puddle of it's self. The north one cracked open, and started mixing it's green liquid with the other one. It started to go faster and faster like a vacuum. The north one now filled with a blue, purple, and green substance. No trace of any scar on the new orb was apparent. But the old one looked like a see-through crystal ball for it was now hollow. Koraph took his Dagger and carved a small slit within his hand, and let the blood drip down upon the now hollow one, and it began to fill with his blood, but also started to shrink in size, to the point where it was about the size of a marble. He picked it up and put it into his pocket. Then approached the north orb an picked it up carefully, looking at it with large gaping kobold eyes that were filled with life. He promptly put the new orb within his robes, then proceeded to clean up the ritual. He then moves towards the group gathered around their new items.


"Lets keep moving, we don't know if there is more than one patrol out there or not. I personally wouldn't mind trying out this new orb! I call him Orby." he exclaims as he removes it from his cloak and shows it to everybody.

"That's very nice, snack, but I would prefer time to lick my wounds. Some of us took some damage in that fight." He holds onto his seeping side. He hesitates a moment and finally sighs. "You did good that time, snack. Keep up the good work."
