04. Traveling to Denthanus's Fort (Part 1)

Greeshtan meets you all at the gate with a week's worth of rations as promised. He bids you farewell, and gives Caex a pat before retreating back into the confines of the guild's walls. Caex snorts at you all and then heads in a northernly direction. You all follow her.

You camp the first night without incident. The second night you set up camp about an 8 hour walk away from the fort.

Cyrus' head perks up as he hears footsteps. "Hey, someone's coming...", he whispered.

The krenshar looks about and sniffs the air. She hisses. It is evident that she too, can hear something, though seems confused as to what it is.

Gyrax cocks her head and turns around to the source of the sound. Despite her zeal and good cheer, she looks a little winded, being the slowest one in the group due to her armor, and struggling to keep pace. Still, she takes a step forward and draws her sword at the ready, placing herself between the perceived threat and her friends. Or, at least, she thinks they're her friends.

"Hello! Can we help you with anything?" she offers sweetly, despite her battle-stance. Manners are manners, you know.

Cyrus slowly turns his head towards Gyrax, grimacing. "Do you always treat your potential enemies so nicely?"

"An enemy is just a friend with too many benefits." the harpy observes.

"What..." He smacks his forehead, then assumes a position beside her with his staff ready. "What KIND of benefits? Seriously? Name one."

"A friend who takes too many benefits from you, that is." the harpy clarifies.

"You mean like a mooch? At least a mooch doesn't always try to kill you. Just threatens to..."
