04. Traveling to Denthanus's Fort (Part 1)

You see the tail end of Koraph's incanting.

Silk narrows his eyes and fades into the darkness. "Oh Koraph. What have you done? Yehehehe! Were you trying to trick me? Fairly good illusions to fool me. That's a point in your favor. Using them against me was a point for killing you. Now, since the points are even. Perhaps you should plead for your life. Gyrax can help if she wants."

Koraph, bravely stands up to silk and puffs out his little kobold ribcage "This was just a simple illusion, when in the heat of battle, some won't know their left from their right, they will overestimate their wounds, and in some cases, I will drive them to the brink of insanity, or push them over the edge. That's how I plan to help, Weaken them not with brawn, but fatigue, and fears, get inside their head, and drive them crazy, something like I just tried do to you. Some instances won't work well, others I will succeed effortlessly." Koraph looks over at Gyrax, "You've seen the chicken in your dreams have you not Gyrax?"

"You have earned three points in your favor. It would have been five but you brought up the chicken. Yehehehe!" His voice almost seems to move about, like it's coming from all directions. "Would anyone care to help him?"

the kobold seems squeemish, and you can sence some fear in him, but it doesn't show well, he holds up his orb and clutches it firmly in front of Silk. I don't want to attack you. I just want to be of help, If you honestly feel like I'm going to get in the way, I'll hang back, like a good wizard is supposed to do, I'm tired of people seeing me as some stupid kobold who does parlor tricks! I'm better than that! I will one day be the leader of dragons!

"Will you now? That is interesting. Tell me, Koraph, will you refrain from attacking us? In the midst of battle or not? Will you focus your magic on our enemies and not on lifting rocks? Will you keep your mouth shut whenever you see that damn chicken? Think carefully before you answer. It could save your life."

"I will, but that chicken has been following me ever since I found this orb, it follows me, haunts me, talks to me. I can't just make it go away, I sometimes wish I never found that orb. But I don't think I could achieve what I set out to do without it. It has taught me, and tormented me. In the end, everybody has their flaws. It's my talent to exploit them, one of the most valuable things it has ever told me. I believe in my ability to do! That's what it told me the night that we were staying in the inn, and why I went to bed early."

Silk appears next to the kobold. "Perhaps you should be learning that from someone other than a blue chicken. First lesson, know your enemy. Rotting flesh is practically an aphrodisiac to a gnoll. You should know that since I am willing to eat your dead friends over there. So here's the deal, snack. When you see the chicken, ignore it. Listen to me. Listen to Gyrax. Listen to Cyrus. We know what we're doing. You're taking lessons from a glorified rock. You might need it to do what you want to do but that just makes it a tool to be used." He pauses for a moment. "Much like people. Yehehehe!"

Koraph Nods in understanding. "Well, i'm going to get some sleep. Goodnight everybody", he bows, and heads back towards his place near the tree to lay down for the night.

"He might be tired but I'm hungry. Let us roast some kobold." Silk spits some meat on a stick and roasts it over the fire.

OOC: I'm cool with ending things here, guys. Sorry for the long roleplay but obviously Silk and Koraph had some issues to work out.

OOC Ugh. Sorry for the long absence. Hell, I'm not even gonna roll for insight.

At the sight of blood splattered all over her front, the stench of death and the sound of battle, Gyrax positively flips! Drawing her sword out, she ignores the conversation between Silk and Koraph, trotting around the area, hacking at everyithing that looks like it might be an enemy.

ooc And yeah, I think we should end it here too. Our first fight AND our first in-fight!

OOC: I think Koraph was only aiming that illusion at me, Gyrax.

OOC: I was aiming at Silk, but if I rolled a one, it might have hit you instead LOL. I'm Ready to continue as well. I've got all weekend open!
