Gyrax blushes adorably as she becomes aware of the awkwardness of the situation. She takes a deep bow before the skeleton. "I believe I owe you my apologies yet again. If you would let me do penance and offer you compensation. I'm starved and was thinking of heading off for dinner downstairs. Will you join me? You must come as well too, Master Silk! My treat, of course." she says, reaching into a pocket in her loincloth and extracting not money, but a battered piece of parchment:

Silk nods at the harpy. "The pretty bird is so polite. I would love to join you. Yehehehe!"

Koraph:

Luckily, it seems that most of the alcohol that gets consumed here is done in the courtyard. You and the banshrae (and the chicken) are the only ones in the inn's small barroom. It's clear that this establishment is more for rest then merriment. The banshrae looks not at all concerned with your outburst, and does not move


Gyrax:

While Cyrus knew it was a waste of time eating, he thought he should at least accept the goofy harpy's kind gesture. "Yeah, sure,sure... so you guys never answered me earlier. Did Greehstan send you here too?"

"Oh, yes, he did. Took a while to find him, thanks to the snack, but eventually we got through."

"Wait... so..."

Cyrus: You can assume that Greeshtan does want you to do something for him, but the nature of what it could be remains a mystery.

Gyrax nods as Silk answers the earlier question, and is quick to (suicidally foolishly) answer the second unvoiced one. "Are you here to kill the king too?" she asks excitedly. "I'm Gyrax, harpy paladin of Pelor. Thwarting evil is my trade. I'm a Thwarter. They call me Gyrax the Thwarter. I pursue, arrange, and deliver thwartings."

OOC: Omg dude, you are making me laugh my ass off. If that was literally possibly, I would be getting an amazing hind end work out.

"Yehehehe! I like this pretty bird!"

OOC: Agreed! Comedy gold right there.

Cyrus stomps his foot. "Sonuva! That guy wants us all to do something for him I bet! And what's this about killing a king? I just wanna see a sorcerer and get out of here!"

OOC So you want to see a wizard, who is asking for you to assassinate the main villain in return? I'm seeing shades of the Wizard of Oz here! Except that Cyrus is looking for a heart, a brain, some guts, skin, blood, and about sixty pounds of muscle.

Silk places a claw around Cyrus' bony shoulders. "Well, chew toy, I don't think any powerful sorcerers are going to be rubbing elbows with this group. Did you see that little drunk in the courtyard? If you were an amazingly powerful sorcerer would you tolerate that? Yehehehe! I think that the most powerful of the arcane users would be in the bigger cities." He leans down and whispers into his skull. "Big cities like the capitol, maybe? Yehehehe!" He leans back once more and feigns thinking. "In fact, isn't the queen the most powerful sorceress in the world? If only you could prove to her that you were worthy with some kind of... show of force." He grins wickedly.

Gyrax looks at Cyrus's increasing annoyance, and deflates a bit. "Um... I think I'll be heading downstairs, but I hope to see both of you join me. From the sound of it, we might be seeing a lot of each other soon, but to be honest, I'd be quite glad if that started tonight."

With that, the harpy closes the door to her room and locks it, heading downstairs. And yeah, she's still topless and wearing a loincloth. Harpies. Tsk tsk.

Cyrus thought a moment, thinking out loud. "Well... I don't really wanna KILL anyone. Well, no one tied to royalty at least. I just want to find a sorcerer to... well, you're probably right about no sorcerers being here. But let's at least listen to what Greehstan has to say... Also, I believe a topless harpy just went downstairs." Cyrus removed Silk's arm from his shoulders, proceeding downstairs after Gyrax.

Silk chuckles to himself. "Even without the flesh a man will still pursue the pleasures of the flesh." He sighs. "I bet he used to have a cute butt." And follows him downstairs.

ooc And so the quest to restore Cyrus's magnificent butt to its rightful seat was begun.

Gyrax hopped down the stairs and crossed the courtyard, and, if I may take liberties with the NPCs, no doubt inspiring a few artists to scratch down furiously on their sketchbooks. She reaches the bar and takes a seat. Unfortunately it's the same seat currently occupied by the invisible chicken. Lucky chicken.

"I'll have a beer please. Do you have any Gnome-Mobile, or Bombur's Bane?"

Cyrus made his way to the bar, ignoring any other comments he heard about his current predicament. He sat down on a stool beside Gyrax, not ordering anything. "So, why is a "paladin of pelor" here anyway?", he asked, making air quotes with his bony fingers, not quite sure she was actually a paladin.

Silk sat next on the other side of Cyrus, as far away from Koraph as he could get. He nods at the banshrae. "A simple meal and an ale, sir." He says politely. In his line of work, it helped to have people skills. He turns to Cyrus. "A better question would be why a paladin of Pelor at all? He's isn't exactly popular with the current government. Yehehehe!"

Gyrax shrugs. "Oh, governments come and go, but the sun shines forever. Besides, it's not like the local government is ranking high on the popularity votes herself." she adds sagely.

Koraph is starring bluntly in horror at the harpy with his mouth hung low as it can go letting out a slight screech in the form of the word 'ohno'. He is covering his ears in pain as the chicken is screaming at him(in his mind), His Orb falls out of his robe altering Koraphs perception of the area around him. He falls upon the wooden floor, clawing into it, and letting the wood pieces it run out between his fingers, he's clawing every where around him to find it. Tears are flowing from his eyes like a stream.

You all realizes that he is currently seeing the world in a different form. There is sand all around koraph, but he cannot see the orb which you see is only a few feet away from where he is currently crouched.

Cyrus glanced over at the kobold, raising a brow and wondering if he was on some kind of drug. He seemed to really be tripping out. He then noticed the orb beside him, wondering if it was his. He got up, walking over to the orb and picking it up, gently tapping it against Koraph's head. "Hey, kid, is this yours?"

Koraph, please stop mini-DMing I can certainly decide if the entire group would pass the passive insight, thanks!

The bartender hands Gyrax a mug. It is unclear if he has heard her request for a specific type or not. He holds up two fingers and points to the silver coin fused to the counter.

Turning to Silk, he makes a croaking throat noise and closes his eyes. A moment later he reopens them, and just as he does so, a Xivort brings a plate of stew from the door behind him. He pushes it up onto the counter, standing on tiptoes to do so. Suddenly, his is sitting next to you, feet dangling off the counter.

"Here ya go mister! Sorry about Juluka. He doesn't speak much. This here is the house special for the evening." While the small creature talks, the banshrae hands Silk a mug of ale. He holds up 4 fingers, and taps the same silver coin.

Seeing him do this, the Xivort pipes up. "That means he wants 4 silver. He has no mouth. He can talk if he wants to, but apparently he doesn't. Great secret keeper though if you ever need an ear!" Seeing the banshrae's brow furrow at the racket, the Xivort stops talking and looks around the room.

"HEY! What's wrong with that guy! He have too much to drink? Did he eat one of Yandro's toads?" He gets serious for a moment and whispers into Silk's ear. "The toads are tasty all right, but I don't know what she feeds them! Have a crazy effect on you!"
